Awesome Second Chance: Alan Greenberg's First Official At-Bat
In 2005, Alan Greenberg had his dream come true and got called up to the Major Leagues with the Chicago Cubs. Unfortunately, he got hit in the head with a 92 mph fastball on the first pitch he saw. Not only did he not record an official at-bat, he suffered a major injury and suffers from vertigo. He's been trying to get back into the Majors ever since and thanks to a social media campaign, he's getting his chance tonight. Greenberg signed a one-day contract with the Miami Marlins and they have guaranteed Alan will get a chance to record an official at-bat against the New York Mets.
