Awesome Message: cindy mccain, obama & others speak out

i'll be the first to admit that most anti-bullying ads come off as corny and end up ineffective. these aren't so much ads, as they are speeches. important ones. and whether you're for or against prop 8, things do need to get better, quicker.

Awesome Film: life cycles

Awesome Accomplishment: This is Our 2000th Post!

We've been bringing you the awesome for over 2000 posts. So we thought it'd be good to pause and reflect on some of the most awesome things we've seen.

First up.

The Between Two Ferns series. Zach Galifianakis has gone from underground to everywhere. This interview show he's done is totally fresh. It's akin to the mockumentary style pioneered by Christopher Guest and others but Zach brings a kind of manic perversity to the enterprise which makes it all feel brand new.

The quality has wavered, depending on the guest (I'm sure that Sean Penn wants to punch out Zach. I'm sure of it.)

Second up.

One movie phenomenon that's growing is the blurring of lines between genre films. Is Transformers really an improvement over Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus? Nope. This video is perhaps the Citizen Kane of the grade Z film.

Third up.

Another movie trailer. This one has it all for me. As, I said, originally, too bad they had to actually make the movie. Still though, this is awesome in a bucket. Girls. Guns. Technology. Swords. Cool cars. Medieval warriors. This movie's cup runneth over. Me = mind blown.

Next is the first in a series of stunts performed by T-Mobile in the UK. Brilliantly executed, they embody what blogs like ours are all about. Life's for sharing.

Then, we have an amazing short film that combines many of our favorites to create something that can only be described as awesome.

And last but not least, here is the first thing we ever posted. And two years later, if anyone knows awesome more than we do, it's Michael Bay.

Awesome Video: kanye west - runaway

Like it or not, you have to admire Kanye and his Phoenix story because it's different, creative and got people talking. And since Michael, I can't think of anyone else who has put so much effort behind his live shows and videos. Good or bad, gotta respect that.

Great site from Droga5, Bing, and Jay-Z. It gives you an interactive look into Jay's new book, Decoded. Pages from the book are actually placed around the world. By answering trivia questions, the location of the pages in the physical and online world are revealed to you. If you don't know an answer, you can easily search through Bing. The game isn't just for entertainment purposes though. Users can win anything from autographed pages of the book to tickets to a New Year's Eve concert with Jay & Coldplay. Awesome Trailer: Drive Angry With Nic Cage.

This looks amazing. Nic Cage plays a guy who escapes from hell in order to save his baby daughter (niece maybe?) from being sacrificed by a demon cult. And there are a bunch of cars. A chick in cut off jeans. And William Fichtner.

It's like a direct to DVD movie with a budget.

Awesome Video: Still Camera Shots Video. Video Rocks.

Found on the Daily What.

Remember when swing was popular for about a minute? Maybe it would've lasted a little longer if they'd produced a few videos as good as this one. (Note: produced for less than $2000 on a DSLR.)
